Well, I posted a blog and a comment on here, but my scrren name hasn't popped up yet under the contributers. This site isn't very good.

jose said...

Just comment on this one and we will keep it going.

jose said...

So what do yall think of my music choice, oldies?

jose said...

Man no response that is messed up. But, it also going to mess up our grade lol.

jose said...

I guess that is not funny. Well anyways I guess I'm going to argue with myself. I need help people! PLEASE!

jose said...

I like oldies music alot. It is the foundation for alot of music that is played today. Alot of the artist today were influenced by music back in the day.

jose said...

Well, oldies is boring and mom and dad listed to it. Yuck I'm all about rap and hip -hop. It's alot better than old people singing!

jose said...

Nah, man it's all about rock and roll. The sound the guitar to the drums. Music to my ears.

HAHAHA! Nicely done Mr. Jose sir. You're gonna develop some schizophrenia that way.

I love all different types of music. I'm what Whoopi Goldberg in SISTER ACT 2 would call "eclectic". Like I mentioned NIRVANA earlier I have to mention the band BUSH. I never get tired of any of the songs of theirs I've heard.

Recently I've branched out into different kinds of rap and older rap. But I'll save that for the next one.

so are we arguing about oldies??
if so than i dont really listen to the oldies i think from the decade 80s and on is my range

jose said...

No, justing arguing on what our favorite genre of music is and why. I like oldies Christian and alot of other music. Music I don't care too much for is. Death metal, rap, and RB. They seem to redudant at times and I see no depth in the music. Thanks guys for ridding me of myself I was getting bored aguring with myself Lol

A lot of mainstream rap is nonsensical rhyming and trying to come up with new "dances" to do in clubs. I prefer the older rap where a story is actually being told.

Its not all, "I did this drug, I banged this chick, I killed this guy." Listen to Slick Rick's "Children's Story" for an idea.

jose said...

Will do, I agree Tupac I think would fall in that category as well. Rap that has meaning and thought put into. But, I still have a hard time getting into rap. Some of it's creative but, most of it is trash. But, I will have to look into that old school rap for sure.

holli2288 said...

i agree with jose rap isnt the greatest type of music to get into honestly i hate when i turn it to 96.1 and hear nothing but rap like jay z of lil wayen of something like that its annoying. so when moments like that happen i turn it to country because obivously there is nothing else to listen to. country music is my second to last choice of music to listen to mostly because country music is such a downer the songs seem to be either real sad and depressing or some love song which is still a downer because it reminds me of my ex which i hate.

jose said...

Music brings out alot of emotion. Country is very depressing, but the lyrics are some of the best out their in my opnion. Very thought provoking. But,overall I can't stand country lyrics are good I like some songs here and there. But I'm still a oldies guy 60's - mid 80's some of the greatest music ever was played during that time

Brandon James said...

I was never a real big fan of country. I hated when the other kids would ask me if I liked country just because I was white. ARGH!

When I was younger I was into the Top 40 kind of stuff, still into '80s, and I was really into jazz when thats all 106.7 was. I would put that on in the car and fall asleep to it.

As far as rap goes, I know what you mean about the idiotic lyrics and cRAP that they spew. But they play to their crowds and as long as people are buying their records and what they have to say... we won't be rid of it.

has anyone notice the time is two hours off on this thing...

anyways lyrics and a good beat makes a hit song. hit songs are prefect the only type of music that i listen to

jose said...

It's sad that a good beat makes a hit these days in my opinion. Music is escape for some a way to release emotion. I know people like rap to dance to and yes they say what they say to please the masses. But, we can't overlook the negative affect it has on people. Rap is powerful and probaly the most popular genre of music. But, does it have to be explicit to be a hit. Does it have to talk about banging hoes and shoot guns at homies to be a hit? Sadly, it seems like it does.

Brandon James said...

Thats why SO MANY people are doing well in the rap game. You don't have to rhyme well, you just have to have a good beat and play up that gangsta persona. If every rapper did what they say they do, they'd all be in jail!

I can appreciate some rap for a good beat or some funny lyrics here and there. Why do you think Timbaland makes so much money?! All he does is mark up some beats that people can dance to and he is a millionaire. Lucky bastard.

Thats all rap is nowadays. A beat and shitty rhymes.

Yeah rap has a huge voice in the music industrial these days. Rappers rap about hard times and their street credit. But,they no long live in the conditions they say they lived in. The music affects alot of the kids. The kids look up to these rappers. These kids are usually in broken houses. They resort to rap music for an escape. I'm not saying all rap is bad, only wondering what the difference would be if rappers took a different apporach.
